QUOTE for the month
The Bread that we need each day to grow in eternal life, makes of our will a docile instrument of the Divine Will.
- Edith Stein
Sunday GOSPEL REFLECTION
Taken from St Paul’s Society 2012 Gospel Reflections
7th Sunday in Ordinary Time Mark 2:1-12
Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven’.
There is a healing power in forgiveness. Jesus claimed an authority which only God could rightfully give. Jesus not only proved that his power came from God, he showed the great power of God’s redeeming love and mercy by healing. This paralytic had been crippled not only physically, but spiritually as well. The Lord is ever ready to bring us complete healing of soul, body and mind. Is there anything that prevents you from receiving the healing power of Jesus?
The Florilegium – MEDITATIONS of Ven. Maria Celeste Crostrosa
It is certain that every time you eat of my Bread in a union of love, you will go forth again as pure and beautiful.
SAINTLY OPINION on the Eucharist
Blessed are you, my Lord Jesus Christ, who did foretell your death before the time, and in the Last Supper did wonderfully consecrate your precious Body of material bread, and also charitably gave it to your Apostles, in memory of your most worthy Passion.
- St. Bridget
Excerpts from an ESSAY ON ESCHATOLOGY
Written by Sr Gabrielle
The bitter lessons of the experience of the scandals of suffering and evil, the risks of biological warfare, genetic engineering and ecological harm, not to mention the threat of extinction through nuclear war can be disappointing and discouraging. Disunity within the church, and disharmony between faith communities, is a further source of scandal. However, our critical vision of these failures is itself a sign that our participation in the Eucharist is already working to ‘keep alive a dream of justice and peace for humanity and all creatures’.
