The Redemptoristine Nuns from all over the world have gathered together in Mater Domini in Naples, Italy for their General Assembly. The day before the Nuns arrived in Mater Domini they had the wonderful privilege of a very close-up view of the Holy Father Pope Benedict at the Wednesday audience and were greeted and waved to by Pope Benedict. The sisters in the Monastery of St Alphonsus make Altar Breads, write icons, make cards, and candles. We make candles for Baptisms, First Communion, Confirmation, graduations, weddings and for all special occasions. We will personalize the candle for you. Here are some samples. Gift given… Gift received… New Postulant joins the Redemptoristine Nuns

Today the 26th April, 2012 a gift was given to us when Lynette joined the Redemptoristine Nuns. There was great joy in the Monastery when Lynette knocked on the door of the cloister to ask Sr Gabrielle, Prioress to enter our cloistered life. The sisters were waiting to greet Lynette to her new life as an enclosed nun. Fr Dan Bargary. C.Ss.R., Redemptorist joined the nuns in welcoming Lynette. When Lynette changed into her habit, the sisters processed into the chapel singing : Joy was in my Heart, Alleluia, when I heard them say, let us go to God’s house.(Psalm 121) Fr Dan read the Gospel and spoke a few words, saying : in this house, this Monastery Lynette has chosen to give her life to God, where prayer, the Liturgy of the Hours and the Eucharist is the centre of the Redemptoristine vocation, and the peace of Christ will dwell in her heart when her focus is on Christ alone.

A most magnificent day it was in the Monastery of St Alphonsus when Sr Lucy professed her Solemn vows before a packed Church in the presence Sr Gabrielle Fox, Prioress who received her vows, her Community, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, Chief Celebrant, Fr Damien McNiece, Master of Ceremonies, the Redemptorists, local clergy, her mother and family, friends, parishioners and the hundreds who watched on the Webcam from all over the world.
