Alone - A Poem by Sr. Lucy

Writer's picture: Red NunsRed Nuns

Today I walked in the garden – alone …

But truly I was not alone.

I watched so many different birds

I could almost sing their tune afterwards

I felt the sun on my face with the help of the breeze.

And I have experienced great peace.

I walked around the garden again

four times made a mile – Amen.

These days the sky is blue

And the sun shines – even before noon!

zI have walked into every room

And enjoyed the spring perfume

Watering the dandelion

Brightened and coloured my garden

I walked around the garden again

four times made a mile – Amen

God is with me,

In the garden,

In the rooms,

I am not alone.

His gentle presence

Is within me

So, I walk around the garden again

four times made a mile – Amen
